At 1215, USFS Snow Rangers were informed of a 69 year old male having chest pains and shortness of breath on the Tuckerman Ravine Trail below Hermit Lake. One USFS Snow Ranger responded immediately to assess the situation and called for the snowcat and an ambulance to meet the party at Pinkham Notch. USFS Snow Rangers administered oxygen and the patient was transported to Pinkham Notch via snowcat where the ambulance was waiting. From the time the incident was reported, the patient was in an ambulance within 45 minutes.
