Location: Hillmans Highway and Lower Snowfield Recent Snow Depth Change
Isolated pockets of wind slab exist in Hillmans Highway. There is a clear difference in snow conditions across the width of the slope. Generally, skiers left is where dense wind slab exist, and skiers right is firm crust unable to be navigated without crampons. The snow depth map below backs up this claim with darker blue colors signifying deeper snow since March 23rd. There is a significant amount of accumulation in the lower snowfield, but is unfortunately still a far way from being an actual snowfield. The other two photos included are orthophotos for each flight date. A great deal of information can be gathered by toggling these two images back and forth to see what changes. For example, the large section of the gully that was blown out from rain on the crest of the dogleg is now completely filled in.
