A crown line from a natural avalanche was visible in the afternoon below the ice in the center of Tuckerman Ravine. The crown line was around 175 feet wide and 6 to 12” deep. We estimate the avalanche occurred mid to late morning. Given the amount of snow pouring down the headwall, that avalanche likely filled back in, undermining the accuracy of the 6-12” crown line estimation.
