Location: Cut 7 on Sherbie
Dug to the ground with an avalanche course near cut 7 on the Sherbie.
HS 155cm
Slope aspect: ENE
Slope angle: 16 degrees
Elevation: 3300’
Purpose of pit: compare basal facets at mid level elevations to previous observations at lower elevations.
2-3mm Basal facets were present at 3300’, but are undergoing the rounding process, and forming bonds between grains.
PST showed propagation unlikely.
