Went to investigate an avalanche reported earlier in the morning. Info was relayed around 8:30 or 9 am. Found avalanche debris being covered and terrain was being actively reloaded. Wind was strong out of the NW, with blowing snow and rime. While skinning, 5 cm thick dinnerplate-sized slabs were breaking apart occasionally underfoot but not propagating.
Coverage is still relatively low, but the bottom of Hillman’s skied well. New snow has not yet eliminated exposed rocks and vegetation as hazards in the runout.
