Name: Nathan Delmar| MWAC
Location: Height of Land
While on a tour to Height of Land, the remanence of a natural avalanche in Central Gully was observed. Though the exact size of the avalanche is hard to determine, the depth and length of the crown line suggest that it was R2 in size (small relative to its path) but was D2 in force (large enough to bury, injure or kill a person). This avalanche serves as a reminder to that being swept off of your feet, even by the smallest of avalanches, can be incredibly dangerous. Being caught and carried by this avalanche would have resulted in a fall into the boulders of the Fan. The Fire Road is covered from the Height of the Land to Tuckerman Ravine Trail.
